Flying fairly low under the radar, lost in the static noise of endless comic book film geekery and low-rate so-called-horror garbage...slouching slowly towards release...ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE (http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/elizabeththegoldenage/).

I've linked to the Apple trailers page for it as this particular version of the trailer is cut much better than the international one(which can be found on the films website). The editor for the US trailer had the sense not to cut apart the "I too can command the wind, sir..." line, which'll send shivers down your spine.

The trailer, as can be expected nowadays shows plenty of flags fluttering, sabres rattling, horses galloping and swashes being buckled. I expect that will bring in the post-PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN crowd primed for more period derring-do. Going by the first film, I'm guessing(or more appropriately, hoping) is that it's more dramatically intensive.

And while that title, THE GOLDEN AGE, is a little lackluster and even remotely suggestive of some Sid Meier sim, this should hopefully be a chance for Blanchett to be vindicated for her highway robbery by Blando Paltrow some 9 years ago.

She was great in the first film. But then she's great in any film...

I'm really looking forward to this. (I admit that I liked Shakespeare in Love, but I really wanted Cate Blanchett to win that Oscar anyway.) This may be something I drag Graham to, making him suffer the way I suffered through The Medallion.

As long as there's a helicopter, preferably exploding, and a father bonding with his child then I'm sure it'll do really well.

Just watched the trailer - it's got Eilean Donan castle in it, been there many, many times. Then again, it was in Highlander too.....

I would actually pay to see that in threaters.
