You remember him don't, you:

Theophilus Thistle, the successful thistle sifter, in sifting a sieve full of unsifted thistles, thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb. See that thou, in sifting sieves full of unsifted thistles, thrust not three thousand thistles through the thick of thy thumb.

Anyway, ol' Publius tripped himself up walking through a little briar patch. You know, those little thorny vine things that sort of hug the ground. I tripped on one of the vines and fell, breaking my fall with my hands, and managed to drive about three thousand of them into the my hand. Digging them out, which I just completed, was most painful. My hands are so sore I can hardly type...............

Yes I've got the temerity of

A tutor who tooted the flute
Tried to tutor two tooters to toot.
Said the two to the tutor,
"Is it easier to toot,
Or to tutor two tooters to toot?"

Or,

A flea and fly in a flue
Were trapped, so what could they do?
Said the flea, "Let us fly!"
Said the fly, "Let us flee!"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

Somehow your adventure in the briar patch reminds me of when my brother, about five years old at the time, walked up to us and said, "I think I fell on a cactus." His hand looked like a pincushion.

This was in eastern Montana, not notable for being cactus country but we had lots of little ground-hugging prickly pears in this area.
