i have a Meade 70AZ telescope and i need help

I've got a Meade 70AZ telescope and im trying to look at mars but all i see is a tiny yellow dot in my telescope. what am i doing wrong? i am completely new at this and i need alot of help! i have no idea what you guys are talking about in some of these posts so please talk dumb lol. Thanx!

Welcome to BAUT. Just a note on things here: Don't be surprised if this thread is moved, this isn't really the section for this type of question.

As for your question, it's been discussed recently. Here's the thread:

But, chances are you aren't going to see much detail on Mars whatever you do. Sorry. Try the Moon, or for planets, Jupiter.
