He makes some good points. (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/letters/orl-le06_308jan06,0,1896306,print.story)I would like to add my voice to those who have advocated the teaching of intelligent design (ID) in Florida biology classes. It is, after all, abundantly clear that a great many life forms are far too wondrous and intricate to have come about by purely natural means.
Some examples include:
Cancer cells, which not only divide and reproduce at amazing rates, but are not subject to apoptosis (programmed cell death) the way that so-called normal cells are.
Microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, which not only debilitate and kill animals millions of times their size, but can also alter their genetic structure to evade the best attempts by man to eliminate them.:D

Revers logic... Pocking a sharp stick at them. Well done.

I didn't want to open this thread, I thought "Oh not again, another deluded poor s@d", but after reading this pearl of wisdom I am convinced.
.....Microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, which not only debilitate and kill animals millions of times their size,.......Sadly, I must also express deep disappointment in the actions of my fellow men.........We spend billions, nay trillions, of dollars concocting deadly chemical and biological agents to vanquish them. Who are we to destroy the creatures, ........., in His infinite wisdom, has chosen to design and create?

Well there are people who use examples such as the fish tongue parasite and the worm that causes people's testes to swell up to the size of pumpkins to promote their theory of malevolent design. Personally as an Australian, I am partial to our traditional theory of unintelligent design.

This parasite worm (you knew this was irresistible didn't you) does it only work with testes. I mean can it not be used to enlarge other parts.....

Oh yes. It also often swells the legs.

Perhaps some studies should be done in Genetic Engineering. Can we inject a little plasmid in there and redirect its focus?

Funny letter, if not particularly constructive.

And mosquitos, so perfectly engineered to carry these sacred germs and inject them into another organism, allowing them to be fruitful and multiply!!
