It's the usual Daniel Maas (Maas Digital site (http://www.maasdigital.com/)) MER computer-generated animation, for those wondering if they'd be seeing anything new.

Yeah, but it still looks amazing. Works really well with NIN, too.

I agree Vermonter. I enjoyed it too.
01101001, your annoying editorials could use some work.
I hope that if ever I post a YouTube link in a new thread, I choose one that you really cannot stand.

I saw that one before. Didn't exactly fit my taste in music, but I liked the animation.

If people would provide their own descriptions they wouldn't have to endure mine. Perhaps I make them annoying on purpose.

Ok, for one thing, he DID describe it:

Enjoy
You used about two more words than he did.
You seem to lie in wait and pounce on any freshly posted video. The first comment after a video OP seems to come from you- with negative remarks.
If you just idly commented your opinion time to time- that would be one thing. But you don't. You seem to be the first to pounce on any posted video with disparaging remarks.
Did YouTube impregnate your sister or something? Is there a grudge at work here we need to know about?
The last time, you got caught red handed posting comments about the video prior to having even watched the whole thing. I've begun to wonder if you just get a kick out of knocking what others think might be funny (You don't think it was funny and it was a waste of time), interesting (You found it boring) or cool (You say it's just the same old, same old).
I would PM this to you- But your PM's are turned off and I cannot.
And before you say "If you don't like my comments, then don't read them." I can just as easily say, "If you don't like the video links, don't watch them and keep your comments to yourself."

Last night's reply got lost in the move, and I'm not in the mood to address the source again. I do want the personal insults preserved here in lucite though, in case the banning activity also got lost in the shuffle.

Neverfly and 01101001 should both remember Rule 16:
16. Reporting Bad Posts
If you feel a post breaks one of these rules, please report it by clicking the 'report' button (the red triangle with the exclamation mark inside it, located at the top right hand side of every post). Do not talk about bad posts or anything else you consider to be inappropriate user behavior in the forum itself or suggest, speculate on, or threaten what the moderator response should be. All reported posts are reviewed by moderators or administrators, and are treated very seriously (so do not report frivolously). If you have concerns, please PM a moderator or administrator.
(Emphasis mine.) Neverfly has been suspended for three days. 01101001 is only warned since this is a first offense for him.

I think I was reporting facts, not opinions. Antoniseb banned neverfly last night for 2 weeks, during the move.

This is true. I also saw the post last night stating a 2 week suspension for the poster called neverfly for comments he made on this thread.

I think I was reporting facts, not opinions. We just have to remember that the board rules about reporting are applied whether or not the report is fact or opinion. ToSeek quoted the rule. I think it's probably a little overbroad, but then it seems to be a little under enforced, so it balances out.

just after the server move, every time I posted, what came up was someone else's post, it appeared as though I was either arguing with 01101001 or Neverfly, I thought I had developed multiple personalities, or something, it was quite a strange feeling.

That's true, by letter of the law. I shouldn't have described my actions, probably. My only excuse is that I didn't understand what had occurred after the move.
Several articles were lost and and a banning had (at least appeared to have) become undone as well and I didn't want the reason for it to be lost too. I've talked to the mod about it. I think it's all straightened out -- as straight as a couple of crooked BAUT members can get it.
Next move (hey, Fraser, I think this new server is getting a little slow -- how about an upgrade?) when similar events occur (like that's a possibilty), maybe I'll just quote the material and not say why. Preserved is preserved.
Sorry I didn't have all the facts and acted more rashly than necessary. Fog of war, or some such. I throw myself on the mercy of the tribunal...

Ah, worth noting that the reporting triangle only appears if you are properly logged in as a member.
If you're like me and use the 'Remember Me' login, then you probably need a 'Wish I could remember' box when you're on a different machine, as I am today. Don't forget the caps and number lock keys, also.

very interesting movie, and first time I am watching this sort of video, thanks for showing. The ejecting from one to other form is very interesting, during its final journey the "ejecting" actions are very interesting to watch, but all it controlled from the earth!!, Really interesting. :)

The stages you saw in that video all serve specific purposes and they are quite interesting to learn about. Much of the reason behind dropping off parts is to lighten the load when those parts are no longer needed, but why they occur when they occur is interesting. Sorry I don't have time to dig up a link for you but I'm sure a little surfing will reward you.

Wow - pretty awesome animation! I don't think NASA's video telemetry had quite that resolution, though... And they wouldn't have had the viewing angles or shake like that, either. Well, the earliest ones were horrible, probably controlled by puny Earthlings before the invention of rotating phase-locking radars, gyroscopic stabilization, etc. I recall Walter Cronkite, on more than one occasion saying, "Well, folks, we seem to have lost the video" as the Saturn Vs rocketing into orbit.
I also admired how he kept only the key sequences and compressed a couple of years into four minutes and thirteen seconds...
Does anyone know just how far the landers bounced and rolled before they came to a stop? Just curious.

MER-B, Opportunity, rolled a long ways, and changed course (thanks to Bounce Rock) to divert into a finish in Eagle Crater: Planetary Photojournal: PIA05227: Opportunity Bounces to a Stop (http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA05227) As I recall the landing, MER-B was indicating it was still rolling (when it was actually rocking in the bottom of the crater) for an astoundingly long time.
