Well, I argued toward my teacher of biology in a very similar way some 50 years ago (and I still believe in it !). I had to leave the classroom for ten minutes (no joke!). Enough time to meet a really nice girl. So I volunteered for a 20 minutes´ exile.

George Carlin did a skit that was very similar to this.
i was actually referring to the george Carlin skit in my post.. his theory is that the planet created us to make something that she wanted but couldn't make for herself- plastic. once there is enough plastic, she will shake us off like a bad cold.
he also says that the universe was created by a giant electron, and that he worships Joe Pesci- which makes as much sense as anything else, i guess..
