Getting ready for a night launch. ..ideo camera is ready. If you're not awake you should be. Abort sites are clear, every thing is go. T-9, I'm going outside; more later.

A real bummer! The horizon lit up, and then nothing. You who were watching on tv saw more than I did, 20 miles away. I guess there were clouds between here and the launch site. The last night launch I saw was visible 500 miles down range. Do you think the HBers are right and it's all SFX?

Watching the launch on TV it was really cloudy. The shuttle disappeared into a cloud about 30 seconds into liftoff. Good thing is you can watch it over and over on internet.

Shhh! Don't awake the HBers, hehehe.
