Lowell Observatory....

Just got back from a trip to Arizona and had a great visit to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff.

Nice facilities and super nice staff there.

The seeing was a bit marginal due to a weather front moving through. Got to see Saturn through the historic 24" Clark refractor, Mars through a 20" Dob, and the double-star Castor and Saturn through a 16" Cat.

A great evening out for a measly $6 admission.

If you're going anywhere near the Grand Canyon make sure you add the observatory to your itinerary!

Nice writeup! At least you got to see something. Here in the NW we get clouds and then more clouds. Today is a teaser day; it seems clear, but there is a layer of high level clouds that will make observing nearly impossible tonight.
