There are a lot of free websites out there like MySpace and YouTube. What are the most reliable sites?
Please share any good websites with references and examples of free websites developed. I'd like to make one but not for profit.
It has to look cool. Unl;imited bandwidth and unintrusive ads are essential. I don't want to drive away people. What about free forums?

If you're asking about free hosting services, I looked around quite a bit for a replacement for my ISP and found nothing that really looked good to me. Free hosting with unlimited bandwidth may be impossible to find.
As for free forums, there is this one (http://www.free-forums.org/new_forum.php). I'm a member of a fanfic site (http://cohwritersrevie.free-forums.org/) for a video game, but the person that runs it says that he has virtually no tech skills. The ads are limited to two or three google ad links at the top of the page.
Another free option for a combination site/forum in one is GuildPortal (http://www.guildportal.com/). They cater to online gaming, but there is nothing in the TOS that says the service HAS to be used for a game. You do need to choose your game when you set it up though. The free account is limited to 8 pages, I think. The forum pages can have a total of 6 subforums and a max of 10 replies per thread. You have to register with them to post anything, but that only takes an E-mail address, and one user can have more than one log in.
You can also set pages to be level restricted. Unrestricted is level 1, Superadmin is level 5. If a page is only visible for level 2 or above, then only those people that have applied, and been approved for membership can access those pages. Graphics are customizable as well, to include special borders and banners you create. If you want to go with a more unlimited version, with no restrictions on pages, subforums, or replies, you can sponsor the site for $30 US every 6 months, payable through paypal.
I'm actually trying to see if we can use it for the logbook at work, but they have not responded to my questions.

Am I the only one who finds using the name of a website as one's user name and within 20 posts asking for help in setting up a website to be just a little brazen?

I also thought that was an odd choice of user name.
