View Full Version : Another topic about politics

This is not another topic about politics. But, it is about another topic about politics that just came and went.

My beautiful explosion fell through the cracks.

I saw a blatantly political topic, fired up my red-triangle report window, typed an elegant, spicy diatribe against this un-BAUTlike behavior, and when I finally hit Submit, I was told I didn't have permission -- no doubt because the topic no longer existed, because a mod already nuked it.

That will teach me to complain with too much feeling. Takes too long.

So, with juices still flowing, I'll complain to the members at large -- though the vast majority already act right (thank you!). You small minority, HEY! Listen! Stop with the politics! It's not hard. If in doubt, don't. Read the rules (http://www.bautforum.com/about-baut/32864-rules-posting-board.html#post564845). Live the rules (http://www.bautforum.com/about-baut/32864-rules-posting-board.html#post564845).

Political season is aproaching in the US, and it makes me fear for the normal calm operation of BAUT, a place of tranquil escape. Look, we don't care to hear where you stand, here. Don't share your thoughts about the race (outside of the narrow allowances) with us. Take your political demonstrations elsewhere. We don't want our votes to be solicited here. We go elsewhere for political arguments. We go elsewhere for political news.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I'd like to make this a sticky! I've noticed several topics sliding toward the deep end. I've kept my ban and delete buttons at the ready though! I've had to remove two topics in the last day or so.

Could I get a copy of the deleted thread that I posted in? I don't even
have a copy of my own post. There was a lot of really good stuff in that
short thread, mostly from BigDon. Mostly humor, but I liked it. I expected
the thread to be closed, but not deleted. If one of you can put it into an
e-mail, my address is jroot at freemars dot org. The thread title was
something to do with Obama. Two or three days ago.

Thank you!

To the vast majority who did, do and will cooperate and don't need reminding:

Thanks for your cooperation.

And to those who have failed since my last asking -- and those who will be tempted -- who couldn't quite resist making some political observation, trying to sway someone about how some part of some goverment should perform in some area that isn't related to the BAUT Forum's special interests:

From now on, here, please, keep it to yourself.

Please? OK? Promise?

this is really a great thought, in my opinion the forumist like BAUT should keep away themselves from politics, political notations, political discussions.

In most of the political discussions I think the final outcome (infact there is no final outcome) has no any specific meaning. :) hence it is better to keep ourselve from Politics. Politics is a long lasting subject and it can misrepresent and misunderstandings in case of it discuss thouroughly.

There won't be much left in Off-Topic Babbling.

Welcome aboard, Bollyiron! If you spot political discussion, click on the little red triangle in the upper right corner; it's against the rules here. Mostly, of late, we seem to be talking about grammar.

There's obviously plenty left for this forum, since discussing politics is against the rules.

Welcome to BAUT, bollyiron. You should read through the rules if you haven't already.

I want to repeat my request for a copy of the deleted thread that I
posted in about June 3 or 4. I don't even have a copy of my own post.
If it still exists, could someone please send it to me in e-mail? My
address is jroot at freemars dot org. The thread title had something
to do with Obama.

Thank you!

Hey Jeff, was that the thread I streaked?

Jeff Root

Yes. Your posts made me laugh, and are about 50% of why I want
a copy of the thread.

Ah Mr. Root,

I was expecting that thread to be deleted and not merely locked, else I would not have been so...outre.

Hey, don't worry - there's plenty of us who really couldn't care less about it.

In a poll this weekend, when 1,243 Americans were asked, "If the election were held today-" not one let the pollster finish, but instead yelled, "I WOULD SCREAM WITH JOY!"
