My husband and I are working on launching Project Epiphany, an initiative that will bring astronomers, science educators, and community organizations together to provide transformative astronomy learning experiences for children growing up in high poverty, light-polluted, urban communities.
We've submitted our idea to Ideablob, where we can win a $10,000 start-up award if we get the most votes. We are doing well so far, but we will need many more votes to win. So far, Project Epiphany is one of the top ranked ideas (and we only have about 40 votes) - that means that a few votes from the Astronomy community could make the difference.
Please take a few minutes to check out our idea and vote at:
http://ideablob.com/ideas/2485-Project-Epiphany-Inspiring-Sci
There is a quick registration form to fill out (so they can track your vote), but it only takes a few minutes and they don't spam you.
We also have a website at:
http://web.mac.com/project_epiphany/Project_Epiphany/Home.html
Also, please feel free to pass this along to anyone who might be willing to vote.
Thanks in advance for your support!
