While I was hiking the Rockies this weekend (incredible <inappropriate language removed> trip!!!) I spoke to a couple who told me that when their son visits Switzerland he likes to do something called a Swiss Canyon Jump.

You want the volume on.

I want to do this, I just don't know if I'd be able to once I actually got up there.

I would.

I'd probably need clean pants at the bottom, but tough. I still would.

Incedently, if you think that's nuts, there's this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F9RJSPnf8A). And this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCCrpVB5bFc).

Looks fun :D

Of course, I went skydiving last Sunday, so I'm that kind of person...

Darn!

Why do I get "this video is no longer available" on many youTube links, but later they work fine?

Same here... I haven't figured that out either.

I was looking for that exact clip on the flying suits. Thanks for posting it!

Concerning your first comment. When I showed my nephew the clip I posted that you commented on I told him I would do that jump it if I could get my diaper to fit comfortably.

I feel quite confident in saying I would not be able to do it.

Sure. Where and how much does it cost? Interlaken is several hours south of here...

Looks like fun, but I'd be ascared. :(

Why do all three videos look like the camera has water on the lens? Referring to the OP links.

If I was in my 20's I'd probably do it.

I've done the bungee jump, and while the canyon environment provides a cooler setting to be sure, it's still just a bungee jump. IMO, for the money it is a not a good deal. My first reaction to the 5 seconds of freefall of a bungee jump was "I paid $60 for that?!" (And that was back in the 80's).

Go for the real thing. For probably the same or just a bit more you can make an actual skydive and experience a minute of freefall (enough time to enjoy a few manuevers). Not to mention that skydiving is safer. Plus, if you know a skydiver, and they are experienced enough, the tandem master will probably let them join you in freefall - - which takes the experience to a whole new level.

Agreed in many ways. Plus, if you get a skydiving license, it's fairly cheap to go up and jump. The place around here charges $20 for the plane ride, and $20 more if you need to rent equipment.
