A few weeks ago, an PM exchange with another member had me digging through some archives (in another life as a flame warrior, I might have been classified as an Archivist (http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/archivist.htm)).

I found the first post I ever made to a message board, ten years ago today.

It was at a board that the BA used to link to. I had lurked for several months at BABB and this other place and finally got up the nerve to post a message.

Back then, my machine at home was a 486 DX2-50 running Windows 3.11, and I think the browser was IE 3. The first post had to be sent twice because, well, I don't know - it just messed up!

Anyway, other members of this board that posted there include

Jim
Karl
Tim Thompson
Irishman
Nick
hhEb09'1
Ilya
The Admiral

Some of these seem to have disappeared.

Oh, and Kaptain K, weren't you "Another Karl" over there?

I also think that Sam5 was there.

This is the only board I read these days.

Man, time flies.

Hi,
It is a great board worth reading. It serves us well.

And like The Moody Blues said...."Thinking is the best way to travel " .

Best regards, Dan

Hey there,
I didn't realize how long it had been since I had logged in to this site, let alone any other site, 'til I looked at the last log in date. Life has been crazy and internet access has been very limited these past two years.

When I saw your post I had to think back to how long I have been a member of this forum and I think it has been 9 years. It was also the forum I first posted anything anywhere.

I used to read every post, but as the site grew that became impossible as I wanted to maintain some kind of life outside the internet :)

I think I had the most fun here debating the far out, crazy ideas like those from..."he who shall not be named"...

I don't know if any of my old pals are still around but if you are , a big hello from the Wolverine state.

This is a scary topic.

When I Google my earliest username, I discovered someone had pulled threads on which I'd posted back in the 1980s and posted them on the Internet.

So right now I can claim 21 years.

The archivists were busy then too!
