It sampled Wild 2 in 2004, and the sample container landed in 2006. Keep up, will yah!
The other part of the spacecraft, that remained in space, is now slated to image comet Tempel 1, the one that got hit by the impactor from the Deep Impact mission. The spacecraft from that mission now also has a new mission. Cute huh? :)
See this Planetary Society article (http://www.planetary.org/news/2007/0703_Deep_Impact_and_Stardust_Get_New.html)
(ETA: Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, my name is now part of Tempel 1. But here I may have missions mixed up, I can't remember.)

Whoa.. and I missed this zinger! What makes you think those names were _taken at random_? (http://stardust.jpl.nasa.gov/overview/microchip/faq.html)

I signed up me, my wife and my daughter on the stardust chip. (My son wasn't born at the time).
One of the few ways I can get a hit by googling my name.
Also put myself on a mission to Pluto - even printed the "certificate". A bit of fun, and nice way to be connected to it all.

I'm saving up for a condo in the Taurus-Littrow Valley on the southeastern rim of the moon’s Mare Serenitatis crater, until the Martian units are completed. :)
