Well, we have it again. predictions of the end of the wold today as the LHC prepares to fire up its beams!

Actually i am excited about the worlds largest microscope preparing to end the solar system in an apocalyptic doomsday scenario featuring a man made super black hole bent on destroying the universe.

To all the people at CERN! great work! and cheers! and i hope Stephen wins his 100 bucks because that would mean the universe is far mor interesting that we think it may be!

I do understand that there will be no collisions today and that the bet Stephen made only covers what they find in the next few weeks (or months, i dont know if he gave them a time frame to find the Higgs particle as the research for and search for the particle could last for decades)

and i am to understand that collisions of this magnitude happen every once in a while as super high energy cosmic rays enter our atmosphere. we have yet to fall into a atmosphere / cosmic ray created black hole.

just wanted to clear this up before i get jumped on.

as NEOWatcher pointed out,
after reading the new threads, i realized that there were so many "end of the world/ LHC" posts. I am sorry if i double (triple, quadruple, etc..) posted on a topic that was actually already being beaten to death.

I would not mind at all if this thread was completely deleted.
I am sorry if i stepped on any toes, and poked my silly multiple thread thread in a place where it should not have been.
