Lot's of fodder (http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/108810)for the forum:

Some of my "favorites" include:

41. The Peraves MonoTracer. "Sadely, these designs never seem to come to the US."

Comment: With a name like "MonoTracer," perhaps Spirograph might be interesting in becoming a dealer?

33. Biomechanical Energy Harvesteer: "Walking around wastes endless energy. Why not capture some of that power..."

Comment: What? And make walking around that much more difficult? Americans don't walk enough as it is. We don't need further reasons to park it on the couch.

24. Bionic Contacts. "Bringing you your personal HUD."

Comment: Now that's cool. Right up to the point where an electrical surge blows your cornea clean off.

14. The Memristor. "Could change just about everything about computers over the next 5 to 10 years."

Comment: Data, it's time to wake up, now. I've completed your neural net.

11. Green Crude. "Gas from algae."

Comment: Burp.

10. The World's Fastest Computer. "The Roadrunner broke the petaflop barrier and is now installed at Los Alamos National Laboratory where it plays Tic-Tac-Toe against itself all day long."

Comment 1: *Yawn* Wake me up when something begins playing Global Thermonuclear War.

Comment 2: On second thought, let me sleep.

Comment 3: In response to "...to simulate the effects of aging on nuclear weapons," *yawn,* scratches self, mumbles "they get older," goes back to sleep.

5. The Large Hadron Collider. "Even if it makes a black hole that destroys the Earth, it'll be worth it because it's that cool."

Comment: Not for several months, it won't be.

2. The Tesla Roadster. "A 125-mph electric car."

Comment: Vroom! No, wait a minute...

1. The Retail DNA Test: "...you can find out what your risks are for developing genetic-based diseases..."

Comment: How long before HR departments begin using this to screen prospective employees in order to reduce corporate health insurance premiums?
