What's the best place to get OEM batteries/battery packs? I'd like to find some big batteries for custom projects, but of course, searching "Li-Ion battery" or whatever turns up gazillions of results for specific batteries meant for portable electronics. I just want a 9v or 12v battery that's lightweight and can be used to power homebuilt electronics.

I'd also like to get some cheap CCD or CMOS image sensors that can be easily hooked up to a computer or television. I can provide the housing and lenses. They don't have to be astronomical quality or anything, I just want to use some cameras for the said projects.

Depends on capacity, size and type of chemistry you want.

A good cheap off-the-shelf solution is at every hobby shop - a sealed 12vdc gel-cell:

Any 12v charger can top it off and you don't have to worry about exotic chargers like you need for li-ion or li-poly batterys.

(I fly electric r/c planes and have quite a bit experience with 'em all...)

Lead acid batteries are a bit heavy. Can you get Li-Ion etc. Batteries in that same format?
