If the world ends on every cool date, I don't want to be around on the ninth of September this year.

while true; do EP=`date +%s`; clear; echo the time is: $EP;echo $((1234567890-$EP)) seconds remaining; sleep 1;test $EP -lt 1234567790 && sleep 9; done
WARNING: NEVER paste code that you don't understand into a unix commandline! This one is safe though. Trust me. :)

Hey thanks Henrik, slang....i put the link in my favourites...savour it later.
It's like one hour twelve minutes to go.
I think i'll serve dinner. Lullie our dog, is relaxing on her rug, Rooney our cat, on sofa, is oblivious to the world. i would like another cup of tea...so...by-passing all the parties ....stepping into the kitchen...

in the years since the beginning of this decade, we've survived 1/1/01, 2/2/02, 3/3/03, 4/4/04, 5/5/05, 6/6/06, 7/7/07, and 8/8/08 without any real negative effects as far as i can tell..
in my life before that, i've also been thru 7/7/77, 8/8/88, and 9/9/99 without any real negative effects as far as i can tell..
but i do think it's kind of fitting that Valentines day (http://www.theonion.com/content/opinion/i_wish_id_spent_valentines_day?utm_source=b-section) is the day after Friday the 13th (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/fridaythe13th/) this year..

Well, seeing how valentines day is the 14th, it shouldn't be a surprise it comes after the 13th, and Fridays comes along pretty often as well:)
