So don't forget those flowers, or whatever! It is a special day! Show it to your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend! :)

I was in the store yesterday buying V-day cards for my kids. What is it about finding the right card that makes me cry?

I guess it's because of our March wedding anniversary that I could pass on Valentine's Day.

I personally don't see the point of Valentine's day.
Except from the perspective of stores who sell flowers or candy, of course.

Stupid consumerist holidays. (And I'm even in a relationship... I still don't get it.)

Full body massage with no ulterior motives is what she gets, and some flowers.

I guess it's because of our March wedding anniversary that I could pass on Valentine's Day.

I was married in March too.
For me, it's right out of the holidays into my kids birthdays: January, February, March, May.

Tatum's, my youngest, birthday is two days prior to our anniversary and so takes precedence.

Nonetheless, beware the ides of March!

Valentines... And of course, the stories about how chocolate is good for you...

CNN:Some chocolate is good for you. (http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/health/2009/02/12/fortin.30.40.50.chocolate.cnn)
Sure it causes obesity, diabetes, and dental problems but as you get old, that doesn't matter as long as you get the anti-oxidents. (not)

St. Valentine's execution would make the best Valentine's card ever.

Today, at least, it is.

By the way, was it ever proven that eating antioxidants actually does anything good for you? IIRC antioxidants do *something* in your body but nobody ever actually said that ingesting them improved anything.

Yeah. I actually never got the point of the day.
Granted, it's a bit of an artificial day here, without the huge tradition that seems to hang on it in the USA.

Sure it is commercialized, just like Christmas and Easter, but still I find it symbollically nice... You don't even have to buy anything, just do something special... :)

Then I will.

Cellular damage from peroxides and helps with premature effects of aging.

Anything else Miss J?

No, actually. That's what antioxidants in the body do. Nobody ever proved that eating more of them will make the body retain more.

Seeing that it's Valentine's Day!, which is how it should be every day...
I just want to say that this, from Mr Willie Nelson, is my all time favourite...

You are Always On My Mind ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3DXyfL3HX0

Beautiful song. Nobody has sung or sings it like Willie Nelson does.

This particular one is from 1982!

Thank you Mr Nelson, for the goosebumps!

okay, so i am soppy...

I really feel Valentines day is a money racket but i'm now drinking bubbly lookin at a single red rose and a love letter in a 5 star room so i am feeling full of love:) Just for today though. I would freak out if my bf spent 100euro on flowers. Somethin special, a small gesture just to mark the day is nice.

ROFL!! :D

Kittens on the way! :) I'd like to have one.

[Our cat has recently had two tomcat callers, but she's fixed - and they're on to greener pastures, lol!]

My hubby's taking me out to dine this evening. I gave him a big box of chocolates.

Thanks Mahesh (and Henrik, lol) -!

No romantic songs on my mind spontaneously. That's a bit ironic, since I often have songs in mind. But then I'm looking forward to that nice restaurant dinner (and work being over for the week).

To me, it seems to be the exact OPPOSITE of actual romance. I heard a commercial on the radio about this being the perfect time (and their product being the perfect way) to "show him/her just what (s)he means to you".

Ya, that's the message I'd want to send if I had someone to send it to: "Look, you're worth $40 to me!".

Well we had Boo's birthday party today. We watched the Cross Roads II cd first while we mingled and ate and then played with the Wii.

I grilled burgers and fried catfish. I got exactly the wrong kind of cake again this year as last year. German Chocolate. A nice one too, except Boo hates coconut. It's her big sister (and myself) who loves german chocolate cake.

Later on this week I'll buy her another cake.

No the blues guitar documentory/concert.

And just because it was Boo's birthday, when B.B. King came on Pops, my stepfather got up and cut a bit of a rug and showed her how it was done back in the day. But being as he's 69 now, it was more of a throw rug than an area rug.

Also had to explain "guitar face" to her. When the artist is concentrating so hard on his playing he loses consicious control of the facial muscles and you get all those really weird facial expressions.
