I can see it now. The editor tells him to go cover a Hula contest, and he jumps at the chance. Imagine the look on his face when he saw the contestents. :lol:
Obviously, shapely hips are not a prerequisite for a good hula.
It's amazing what our preconceptions lead us to.

Yes, indeed---that's the exact feeling I walked away with after viewing one of the local competitions on Oahu for half a day. They take their dance quite seriously and I was nowhere near the judges' decisions throughout the event, being consistently won over by a pretty face and "shapely hips". :)
Hearing the announcer's correct pronunciation of the various contestants' names and affiliations listed in the program was a special treat.
