Still, for someone who was given six months to live before I was born, he's had a great run.

I just saw on the news that he is comfortable, lets hope he pulls through, he's quite a fighter.

I wish him luck. It'd be a shame to lose him.

"It'd be a shame to lose him."

Since we will all be "lost" one day, and Hawking has acheived so very much more than most, where is the shame?

Best wishes to the Prof.

Since we will all be "lost" one day,

That doesn't make death "ok". It's still the loss of great potential, even for the least of us.

and Hawking has acheived so very much more than most, where is the shame?

Because he can still do so much more.

I agree for what its worth. He is an inspiration to many, having achieved what he has, given the limitations imposed by his disease. I for one wish him a speedy recovery or that he peacefully go into the night with the dignity he has earned.
