This forum has been a complete failure at answering my question about the vandalism of Titian paintings. So I will give it another chance to pass art history.

Where is the statue in the following photograph located?

Based on the fact that this is an old family photo, some guesses would be Seattle, WA or Cincinatti, OH or New Haven CT. However, I am unsure. I also am unsure of who the people in the picture are.

That's the statue of Cicero in front of the New Haven County Courthouse

But what do blah-blah decorative neo-classical statues have to do with art history?

Oh, what shame comes upon us. I hope you can find the compassion in your heart to forgive us this transgression.

Thank you very much. My grandfather had a close association with Yale University insofar as he ran a Japanese restaurant in some buildings that bordered Yale Green in the 1910s.

As to the rest...well, no one will ever accuse you of withholding judgment.
