Okay, 97 is a good age to reach. But I still have to stop in tribute of a great actor, even though, in my head, he's trying to sell me American Express Traveler's Cheques. (Apparently, that's the spelling they prefer.)

All I can think of is Johnny Carson with a fake nose saying "what will you do, what will you do" just before getting hit in the face with a cream pie.

Well, when he gets to the Pearly Gates and they don't know his face, he'll just have to show them that card ... ;)

I remember him from The Streets of San Francisco. I haven't seen an episode of that series for a long time.

If I was an actor right now, I would be getting very paranoid...

There had to be a third one to balance the universe.... (am I going ATM?)

RIP Karl...

It is a little strange that an "American" company would use Canadian (okay Brit too) spelling...

Uncharacteristicly awkward sentence structure? Unusual for you…

A superb character actor, He was terriffic opposite George C Scott in
Patton. Played Omar Braddley. He will be missed.

Mr. Malden's passing is sad, but I'd be REAL hesitant to think of it as tragic as some of the others that have happened lately. 97 is a run at life most of us would give a whole lot to see come our way. Then to go of natural causes, he won the lottery.

I hope to heck I meet my end even half as well.

6 in two weeks, that's 3 per week, that's a balanced universe:)

They say that after three celebrity deaths, Billy Mays had to throw in A FOURTH AT NO ADDITIONAL COST!

That was a great show. I really liked him in Patton, playing General Bradley.

R I P Karl Marlden.
Good Actor. Plus great works behind the scenes, as it were.

And I can 'hear' Mollie Sugden.
You too dear. R I P.
Thank you for the laughter.

I recently re-watched How The West Was Won, and marvelled at his acting ability as the doting father of the two younger girls one of which was played by Debbie Reynolds.

Malden added so much to every film he was in. I think of On the Waterfront (priest), Fear Strikes Out (Jim Piersall's father), Birdman of Alcatraz (warden), Patton (General), Gypsy (singing!) ...
