Hi Gang,I don't know about the rest of you but I have in the past downloaded and tried many different software planetarium programs. I usually download the usual 2-5MB suites that are fine but very limited. I would like to draw your attention to the latest software that I am trying. It is a freeware suite called The Hallo Northern Sky Planetarium Suite and is accessable from the Frasers software button on the Universe Today links page. This is a superb planetarium program with over 3GB of downloadable tools and catalogues. It has superb features with catalogues downloadable for over 28 million stars!! If you have a fast download internet connection, then I would highly reccommend that you give this program a try. A slower internet speed will take a long time to download some of the massive files, they are however available to buy at a very reasonable cost. It is well worth the wait. jsc248. |

I've used it since the first version, and agree it's a great program...
You don't have to download all the databases unless you really need them. It runs as a stand-alone program and even with a slow connection would not take long to download.
