Default Partial solar eclipse in West Midlands

Apparently in the morning on Monday. As equipment and observing officer at AstroSoc, I'll be doing some observing on it with our Dob.

I hope the morning is as clear then as it has been all day today! (knowing the British weather it'll probably be cloudy in the morning & sunny in the afternoon! lol)

It's been quite some time since I last saw a solar eclipse.

My wife was remembering earlier this evening one which we saw in Spain, a few months after returning to her home town, back in 1982. It happened early in the morning as we were getting the kids ready for school - it started getting dark all of a sudden - we didn't know there was going to be an eclipse that morning! lol!

Here is a link to the news on the Annular Eclipse from the BBC:

It seems the skies may be clear after all! But we only have about 10 mins to see it!

Overslept so rushed in and arrived just in time for the meeting with the committee members who are helping out. Sky was fricken cloudy. We set up our 4˝''. Sky was fricken cloudy. Woman from BBC West Midlands turned up and did a minute long live interview with us then left. Sky was fricken cloudy. Various other people wandered by and we talked to them and promoted astronomy. Sky was fricken cloudy. It started getting really cold and I had a lecture to attend. Did I mention the sky was fricken cloudy?

Unlucky, Glom, I woke up earlier, thought it was a bit dark, and went back to bed. D'oh.

What kind of sky did you have during the annular solar eclipse? Any Norse goddesses involved?

It was cloudy in the East Midlands (Leicester) too.
