I've got a 6" Celestron Starhopper Dob. It's my first scope and gets me outside looking at the stars. My favorite target has been Saturn so far. I've got a 12mm, 25mm and 32.5mm eyepieces with a 2x barlow.
I like the scope, just wish I could find a cover for it so I could keep it in the garage. Right now I have to keep it in the basement and hauling it up the stairs everytime I want to go out and bringing it back downstairs after gazing is a pain sometimes. I'm also worried about screwing up the optics on it from the trips up and down the stairs. Anyone know where there's a good (somewhat reasonably priced) cover for a 6" dob? |

Being that I have no light pollution whatsoever here in western KY, I prefer naked eye viewing of the cosmos.
I do, however, from time to time pull out the ol Criterion Dynascope RV6.

That big tripod won't be very effective sitting on a wooden deck next to the house like that unless it's somehow isolated from vibrations, assuming the scope is used on that deck and not taken somewhere else.
