Default Solar Filter Advice

I have an 11" SCT and recently ripped a hole in the solar filter I made with the Baader solar film.

I would like to make a new one with the Baader, but I'm wondering: If I sandwich the film between two sheets of thin plexiglass (to protect the film), would that degrade the quality of the filter?

I would say yes, it would degrade it. If you want something a little stronger, instead of Baader go for one of the commercial glass filters (that go over the front of the scope, of course).
