Question New Binoculars Faulty?

Hi All

I am not sure if I have a problem or not...
My new Celestron 20X80 Skymaster binos turned up in the mail after importing from USA to Australia. They were very well packed.
The first thing I noticed was the 'eyepiece assembly' has lateral movement ie: you can wiggle (rotate) it about 4-5 mm side to side. As you do this the image goes out of alignment (2 images side by side).
To get a good image, I first have to move (pivot) the eyepiece assy. one way and then focus normally ie: left eye then right.
Is this normal? Do other binos have this movement?
I sent Celestron a query but they fobbed me off to the Australian importer which is of no use to me...

Otherwise the image after setting up is very good.

Regards

PKay

Default

All I had to do was peel back the rubber protection and tweek an adjustment screw (collimation adjustment). The images came into perfect alignment.

I could ask why Celestron (or the local importer) would not tell me this. I had to work it out after doing some research.
