Default Sure. . .

You can do some wonderful work with DSLR cameras. I've just posted a batch of images, one of which uses color data that I captured with my old 300D (The Andromeda Galaxy shot).

Do you have a wedge for your telescope? You'll be extremely limited without one as you will have field rotation on any significantly exposure length.

Haven't got a wedge yet, as i've jumped from a small NGC70 to the ETX 125, picking up pieces as soon as i have the funds available, Will look into the wedge on Telescope house, thanks for your reply, regards. Michael

I am currently reading the manual, and you are not far wrong, the thing is amazing, i just received my t-ring and adapter today, and what a bargain i got aswell, a 2gb sandisk extreme compact flash, £90, got it for £11 on play.com

The only problem i have now, is Meade's very vague instructions to setting the scope up to my pc, this COM-PORT lark went out in the 80's, like c'mon Meade, i know i am trying to look back in time, but theres no need to act like it.
I was hoping my laptop would produce the goods, but its running Vista, and by god does my scope not like that, so its back to my xp Desktop by the looks of it, i'd be pulling my hair out by now, if i had any to pull out

No wedge used with your scope. They are used to equatorially mount SCT fork mounted scopes. You already have an equatorial mounted scope.

Rickj, would i need a wedge for my etx 125 ?, i noticed on TelescopeHouse, that there is a wedge for my scope priced at about £40.I finally got the scope up and running with the PC and got autostar updated etc..... i think myself that the pc cable was to long, it was 10metres, why do they sell them that length if they know themselves that it will degrade the signal, i plugged the 6ft cable in, and it worked straight away

For planetary imaging no as rotation of field isn't a problem with such short exposures. Nor for visual use is one needed.

For longer exposure deep sky photography you need to tilt it to your latitude and align to the pole to prevent rotation of the field. A wedge is a good way of doing this, though not the only one it is the easiest for most. Though I don't know of the drive is up to long exposures, I've never used one this way.
