Default Heavens-above is failing me...

I went online to check out a weird blinking thing I saw, but H-A doesn't seem to have *any* predictions for me tonight! Is the predictions computer out partying on New Year's eve?

Anyway, it looked a lot like a prior observation of the ISS but since the ISS is nowhere near I'm willing to call it a high-altitude plane. I'm just confused about the complete lack of predictions tonight after 17:00 on my current observation site. I guess it has to do with being so high up north (16.6N) that there's no way anything could be lit by anything other than itself tonight. Sigh. And here I thought I had something to add to my list.

Just for my own sake, the observation:
WNW->SSE, a guessed -2 mag, quick semi-irregular blink that made me think it was something rotating, not like a plane does. Slightly reddish tint.

Ookay, when we were out for fireworks at 00:00 we saw some more, definitely terrestrial Couldn't see what it was though. No cross-light formation like a plane, and we couldn't hear a sound. So for now, no ID except for that.
That is, except for the oddity of four at the same time on New Year's night. Is Norway finally invading us?

PS: My personal best guess it light aircraft out to watch the fireworks, as I've heard that reported from other places as well. We're a bit from the next airports, though. Can't find anyone offering such flights online...

Hi jokergirl....
happy new year!

if you google into 'n2yo' , it'll give you a whole spectrum of data on a multitude of satellites...just peek at this, for a start...http://www.n2yo.com/?k=0&a=30

and you could also look at That Tool Bag, too! it's over northern Pacific at the mo. and will hit landfall, North America, soon.

happy hunting
