Default Show Suggestion: Red Dwarfs and why are they variable-flare stars

Seems like there are so many of them and if more were not flaring types stars - prime candidates for extraterestrial life if planets/moons were close enough.

also the climate dynamics involved with a one-side facing world.

IMHO Red Dwarfs are not covered nearly enough. What makes them flare? and why are there a few that don't? Barnard's Star is one example-nearly.

just a suggestion ;-).
