show suggestion - hypernovas
with the discovery of this new form of nova (where the star does not collapse - but just explodes (via the Eddington Limit?)) by witnessing one in a distant galaxy only last fall, and made public this week.
Seems Eta Carina may also die in the manner. 100+ solar mass stars reach the limits of confinement and seem not only short lived but inherently unstable.
