Is the US and NASA the only country that has something like the Shuttle? A ship that can bring people into space...and also bring people back?

I am just curious because if anyone wants to go to the ISS, they need to go up in the Shuttle right?

Or is there any other country or group of countries that have something that can go there and back?

I heard breifly in one of the more recent casts about the private sector (consumer Market) and them putting a 'space hotel' or other things like that. Can anyone give me some links or clarification on that?

It's the only such winged craft that takes people into orbit, but there are other spacecraft people use to enter space and return.

Besides the soon-ending US space shuttle, the other two currently active orbital manned craft national programs are Russia's Soyuz (Wikipedia), frequently taking passengers to the ISS, and China's Shenzhou (Wikipedia).
