Pamela's attending the 39th Lunar and Planetary Sciences Conference, and you know what that means: the Moon… and planets! When you think of the Moon, you think of craters. In fact, that's a big theme this week at the conference, so Pamela took it as inspiration. Here you go, the week we drove the show into a crater. Wait… there's got to be a better way to describe this.

Regardng the "Pamela referred to tidal waves, surely they would be Tsunamis not tidal waves" question.
Tsunami is a term based off the Japanese language it literally means "harbour wave" and usually relates to waves that are created by a displacement under the ocean such as the movement of convergent (destructive) plate boundaries sometimes in the form of an earthquake or a volcanic eruption and reach above a certain height once they reach shallower waters. When discussing Tidal Waves they are a gravitational phenomenon between two bodies. In the sense of Earth and the moon it is how the moon pulls the water and also other bodies such as mountains towards it as it revolves around the Earth. Therefore in this way Tidal Waves is a more accurate term for such a discussion. |
