Unhappy Weekly?

First episode this year was episode 122 january 6. Last episode was 142. This is 20 episodes in 30 weeks. They are also launched rather random during that time. Isnt it weekly anymore?

I miss the times back when you could log on every monday and get a new podcast.

I too miss the frequency of episodes. There has been nothing for a couple weeks now - I really hope Fraser and Pamela have the fortitude to keep it going, it must be hard with their busy schedules, especially all that traveling by Pamela. I especially like the questions episodes, some of the questions can be mind-bending, but the regular episodes are sometimes a bit dry. So, I don't want to criticize or discourage them - just hope they can keep the episodes coming sooner or later.

Yes, it's frustrating that we don't get to have our Astronomy Cast goodness on a more frequent basis, but lets keep it in perspective. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Gay involved in this project, and it's clear her talents are so well recognized that she has many obligations to fulfill.

Plus, it's free, right? (Although everyone that can contribute should try to send in even a little $ to help support them.)

So: high quality show + high quality talent + free is a pretty hard deal to beat, even if we occasionally don't get new episodes as quickly as we would like!

I think the IYA has alot to do with the rate of material put out.
Dr. gay and fraser are probably busy hostin the IYA in some way.

Talking Fraiser & Pamela FTW

But didn't Frasier say that once Pamela traveling has stopped they will get back on track? How exciting. Although i'm not too fussed because i still haven't listened to every single cast, i got like 10 more to go. =P I have to agree with sonofasailor53 though some shows get a bit complicated for me, like the "quantum mechanics" one. I tottaly zoned out. Haha

I just started listening to astronomycast this year and I'm about to be caught up on old episodes as well, I do hope that this next year has more episodes, I feel like I've learned more from this podcast than from actual schooling.

Default I know Right?

I love this cast, it is so interesting and makes me learn heaps. I have learned so much.

Although it is a bit depressing now that its harder to find questions for shows.
hopefully they wont run out of topics =D

21 gun Salute for A-cast podcasts.

Episode # 150 may be the final resting place.
It was a good run while it lasted.

Updates as few and far between because Pamela is very busy this year with the International Year of Astronomy. They have said that next year will be back to normal.

Sprayed coffee out my nose all over the keyboard when I read this.

I too have only been listening for a few months and have nearly caught up on previous episodes and really look forward to the new ones.
There are lots of other astronomy podcasts around as well (Frazers UT cast is cool as well albeit too short) but IMO AC is definitely the most interesting to listen to.

Keep 'em coming guys!!

Although it is sad that the show is not weekly right now it does give me time to catch up.

There is no need to be sad,
They put up Ep. #153, #154, #155 and #156 in the last 17 days.
IMO they are doing pretty good.

Again, Welcome to BAUT, Have Fun.

Guess thats since they are trying to catch up.

Its week 43 tomorrow and the first episide (week 1) this year (januari 6) was episode 122. They are saying they are "weekly", so if they are gonna keep that it means that they are 8 episodes behind atm. (122+42-156)

And if you listen to the last couple of shows, they say they are gonna try to catch up. So I guess it will be a couple of more shows now when Pamela finaly is back
