Asteroid named in honor of Jim Kaler
I know enough of you around here know Jim well enough that I should post this. Apparently, he heard the news yesterday. Asteroid Kaler is also known as 17851 and 1998 JK (giving rise to the honor, no doubt). Unfortunately, I'm not knowledgeable enough to find too much more information to post right now. Keep an eye on the UofI Astro Dept's webpage (astro.uiuc.edu) in the next few days, as this will be the next feature of the month.
