Ta Dah. =D> The lizard is now safe from her wrath, but tailless.

Sinus Meridani on Mars should be Midday Bay, if not the moon answer from Eroica.

So here's paying my debt to you, Tobin Dax
Here is a somewhat detailled article about what I meant.
Here is a report about an attempt to find a significant D source in AGN, which was not successful.
And if it's in Wikipedia, it must be true, right?

So yeah, saying "never anywhere" was a bit over the top; I should have excluded D as an intermediate product in nucleosynthesis by stressing net production - but I think in principle, for the purposes of a quiz, the question & answer were valid.

Edit: Clarification
I see your point, Arneb. My thought was just that the BB isn't the only place that D is produced, even most of it produced since BBN was also made into heavier isotopes. Still, BBN isn't the *only* place deuterium is produced.

What was the price I paid for my first astronomy course college textbook? [slight hint...it was a used book]

Provisional question for the Mulligan players ..... At the Second International Congress on Astronautics at London (1951), how many martian spaceships did Wernher Von Braun propose to send to Mars?

Ok, ok....a better hint, or riddle, for the first trival question....
4,300K will make you want to say
"the weak won't find the peak"
nanometers is as it was bought
now pennies for your thought

[This late a post should favor Eroica]

The second is badder than you think.

Tentative answer: None. He wanted to establish a Space Station for their assembly first because the opinion of the day was that a direct Earth-to-Mars launch would not be possible with the fuels available at the time.

:-?

However, Lyra has earned me this one:
Which class of satellites discovered the gamma ray bursts; what was the irony of this discovery?

Such a nice way to spend luchbreak!

Edit typo, as always.

Since George seems to be away - what do the others think?

Now how did you get that one?

574 nm as peak of Solar emission spectrum?

I just used Wien's Displacement Law to find the lambda-max in nanometres for a body at 4300 K. 8)

Nope (wrong answer ). You used Wein's law (you short-cut artist!). It is not accurate enough for the answer. :P :P

Remember, you wanted a bad question. The answer is...none. Since no Martians had offered him any spaceships, he only proposed using Earth made spaceships! :P :P :P

He did, however, propose sending 10 Earth-made spaceships to Mars from an orbital launch platform which would require (as per his proposal) 950 trips to supply all needs.

Good god....I'd wouldn't have even been close. #-o

But he still got the right answer. :P
