Default 10thplanet There are many objects out there in the space ...

There are many objects out there in the space, we are begining to discover new ones because we have better telescopes than we ever had.

I think as we get better telescopes we get more and more outer space object discoveries.

The fact we found this new 10th planet, is that our telescopes are better.

As telescope technology improves, we will find much more objects within our solar system and beyond.

There are the 11th planet, the 12th planet, the 13th planet, the 14th planet, the 15th planet, .... the 157th planet, it is just matter of time and matter of better technology to find them.

Thank you.

That's right, although the telescope size doesn't really matter in this case. All of these discoveries are made with relatively small telescopes. The very large telescopes are needed when the properties of these objects are measured.

No doubt about that. When the new all-sky surveys like Pan-STARRS start, we will see much higher discovery rate.

Not really. We have now CCD cameras that can cover larger areas in shorter exposure times, plus we have computers to detect moving objects.

The discovery rate has been exponential lately.

...or not, that's why astronomers are not eager to call these newfound objects planets. Pluto is a called planet only because at the time of its discovery it was tought to be much larger and no Kuiper belt was known to exist.
