![]() Image is a combination of 15 frames of each red, green, and blue, 3 seconds each. The images were taken October 18 in below freezing weather with frost on the C-14's corrector plate. That's nice! The image looks a lot better.
But then there's the next step... color balance. That's a nightmare. You have to figure out how much light each filter passes, and then use that to balance each image before you add them together. I spent a long time on that with Hubble, and never quite got it right. The folks at Space Teelscope Science Institute have it down literally to an art now.
