snipits: - European astronomers announced Wednesday they had found a "super-Earth" orbiting a star some 50 light years away - is located in a southern constellation bright enough to be seen with the naked eye - in the same ballpark as Uranus for size (the planet!) - the new planet appears to be a rocky planet - discovered with a telescope the size of which can be bought in a department store! |

If its in a 9.5 day orbit around this star then it is not in the "Goldilocks" zone. That's tighter than Mercury's orbit.
