A point in Mare Tranquillitatis was chosen, Apollo-11 spent 0.9 days on the Moon, Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins helped collect samples from the Moon and returned 22Kg of Lunar rock. On 20th of July 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin became the first men to walk on the moon. The spot is now offically named Statio Tranquillitatis. The USA had beaten the Soviets in the Space Race and the Apollo programme will always be remembered as one of mankinds greatest adventures.
Will the USA return to the Moon ? Apollo 17 was the last time mankind set foot on the Moon. Today the Russians have lunar plans Russia's ideas are good and will be doing future joint efforts with Chinese Space Agencies Roscosmos / CNSA with ultra-high speed penetrators and sample return from the Moon. SMART-1 is the ESA’s craft, a Moon explorer and has been heading for the Moon using solar-electric propulsion with ion-drive. European Space Agency and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) signed an agreement on for including European instruments on board India's first scientific mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-1.

Will man return and when ?
