If you ever wondered what it might be like to visit an alien planet, make certain to get a copy of the present issue of *Astronomy* and go to page 37 for *Under Alien Skies.* I will not tell you any details, because I could never do it justice and would not want to spoil your enjoyment by giving away any of the details. Acquire a copy of the January 2003 *Astronomy* and enjoy.

Great article!

Cool, thanks. The BA says it's the cover story. I'll check it out.

Thanks, Grapes.

I probably have read all of Phil Plait's articles for *Astronomy* (but before I was aware of the significance of his name). I like *Astronomy* because it not only includes articles which are primarily of interest to amateur astronomers, but it additionally publishes articles directed to a broad range of interests in astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology as well.

Thank you for the link.

Thanks ljbrs for not giving anything away. I just got my copy yesterday and haven't gotten that far yet. I usually read each issue of Astronomy and Sky & Telescope twice. Once for the articles then I go back and drool over the ads for all the neat toys.

You are welcome.

Be careful about gazing too long at all of those neat toys which are advertised. They can multiply and push you out of house and home. Then again, one can always move to larger living quarters...

Tell me about it! I already have a very expensive "toy" taking up more than its share of floor space (a very nice PA system with a mixer, speakers, a rack of amps and a rack full of effects and other signal processers). At least this toy has paid for itself and besides I have an absolutely killer stereo!
