Default Dr. Stephen Hawking coming to SF Bay Area

For those living in this area, and who may not know about it.

He'll be at the San Jose Center for the Perfoming Arts on 11/7 and the Paramount Theater (Oakland) on 11/10.

Tickets available through Ticketmaster.

Also, for those in the Seattle area, he'll be at the Paramount Theater - Seattle on 11/16.

I saw him a few years ago for "The Universe in a Nutshell" and really enjoyed it. He does an excellent presentation and, at least when I saw him last, answered a couple of questions at the end.

He's coming to Seattle too. We went when he was here before. There were people outside looking for tickets but it was sold out. That was great, science rules!!!

It is pretty cool that tickets to a science lecture run around the same price as a good rock concert. That bodes well for society, I think.

Next time he tours, he should get Werner Israel or Roger Penrose to open for him.

(spoken to the tune of Stephen's vocoder)

Theh-er ihs aa goost, tuu thee tuune uhv Bar-berree Cohst Piiraats hee-rre en Sahn Frahn-sihsko...

I've a friend who's suffering from the same disease. They said he'd be dead a decade ago. Saw him two months ago - he's doing fine, like Stephen. It's all willpower.

Unfortunately, not without a time machine.

This was originally posted 03-October-2005; the lectures were last November.

OK,

1. Build myself a time machine.

2. Check the dates on the threads before responding to.
