unfolded over this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families
and friends of the victims of this disaster. We cannot help but be reminded that
the men and women engaged in the pursuit of knowledge very often risk their
own lives in the process. They are our heroes and they represent the greatness
in all of us. The exploration of space and the hi-tech advances of the 20th
century have propelled us well beyond our imaginations. As we mourn the loss
of seven heroic men and women who braved the challenges of space
exploration, The History Channel looks back at the accomplishments and the
sacrifices.

To provide a historical perspective on the Space Shuttle program, The History
Channel presents History Now: Tragedy in the Sky, three documentaries airing
tonight, Monday, February 3, from 9pm to midnight ET/PT. Morton Dean will
host the programs, which will attempt to provide a context for these tragic
events. The programs are:

9pm / 8CT: THE CHALLENGER DISASTER
The personal and professional recollections of the Challenger Disaster by CBS
news correspondents who covered it including rarely seen footage.

10pm / 9CT: THE SPACE SHUTTLE
The story of the Space Shuttle as the triumphant saga of the dream of flight,
tempered by the physical and technological challenges faced by a group of
determined people.

11pm / 10CT: APOLLO 13
A review of the Apollo 13 mission and the issues it raised. Includes interviews
with Apollo 13 pilot, director, commander, and module pilot, among others.

Don't get me wrong, I watch History channel with great interest. It is the programs like "UFO Hotspot" that astonishes me.
