The Sun formed in the Milky Way, no doubt about that. It orbits very close the plane of the galaxy in a fairly circular orbit. Any stars from cannibalized galaxies tend to have much more irregular orbits. Additionally, stars in dwarf galaxies are usually metal-deficient (i.e. have only small amount of chemical elements heavier than helium); Sun, on the other hand, is metal-rich.
