Default What is the nearest xray binary star system?

Just a straightforward question, I was reading up on xray binaries but can't find what the closest one to Earth is.

Probably 44 Bootis 3, also the nearest contact binary.

I don't think the 44 Bootes is an xray binary system. My understanding is that an xray binary is a main sequence star paired with either a neutron star or black hole, and that the accretion of matter from the main star to the neutron is creates a significant amount of xrays. 44 Bootes is three main-sequence stars.

Cygnus X-1 is about 8,000 LY away but I was wondering if that was the closest one.

Yeah you are right about that, my mistake. If the companion doesn't have to be a high-mass star than the Black Widow Pulsar is about 5000 light years away.

That's closer than others ones I've found. Thanks.
