It looks official - I'll be doing a set of astronomy and space talks at
DragonCon in Atlanta, Sept. 1-4. The Great Observatories talk is a perennial hit, and comes with piles of take-home pictures. New this year, "Astrophysics from your Back Yard - and your Laptop". Probably updates on exoplanets and my usual curmudgeonly counterpoint to folks trying to having an exobiology panel as well. And, if everyone else looks wiped out enough, the world vocal premiere of "World with No Name".
But wait! There's more! Not just the ginsu steak knives, but the roster of guests actually includes His Moderative Badness, brought in originally by someone in the podcasting track. So that gives a
real reason to go to some of the non-costumed programs. (Me, I polled a few so-called friends to see what sort of garb they thought would look non-ridiculous on me. Not only did every one of them think of Harry Mudd, but they could at least have waited a few more seconds before saying so.)
