I'm glad it is going to miss us. It is almost half a mile across.
At some point we may be regarding this, and the other Earth-crossing asteroids as low-hanging fruit for cheap resources in space.

Stop right there. Think for a moment about the quality of an orbit computed from an arc less than one day in length.

Hum,
indeed, i included that information to put into perspective the numbers,
and it is one reason why the NEO risk table places only 7th on the list.
But, i left out the 107 possible future impact scenarios that are computed from that orbit (that number and size of the asteroid was one of the reasons why i posted the, er, post)

Hum,
at an estimated diameter of 0.645 kilometres there is no currently viable way of stopping it.

(er, apart from the Earth).
