BWAHAHAHA...yeah it stimulated my imagination but strangely I couldn't see the superhero of which they speak. And now I know what God thinks of us .

I was thinking about posting it on the Lunar Conspiracies forum in honor of Santa.

I can see two different things in that image. The first I think would be a nice message for Nancy and the second we'll just leave alone!

Let's see how long it takes before I get in trouble for having that pic as my desktop wallpaper...

Heh, same here, Charlie. :P I see the Super Hero but you need to squint to see it, the other is clear though. Maybe the person who wrote the description for it was really hinting at what we all know. -Colt

OK, it needs a name. How about "The Bird Nebula"? Or "The Turn Indicator", you should see the way people drive around here.

When I saw that picture this morning I got a big smile. I thought it looked like a "bird" as well. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I've had the Carina Nebula as one of my wallpapers for ages. It was one of the first I used after jettisoning the I Love Lucy desktop utility. Right now though, it's N44C.

At least it does not appear to be oriented in any way that might suggest it's pointed our way.

If it were, and there were two "appendages", we'd have to call it the Stooges Eye Poke Nebula.

Well its little brother is pointing upwords with its index finger. Does that mean anything? (upper left)

Wel "up" usually makes you think of god. OR Aliens. So either E.T. is telling us to F-You or its god. Either way my response is: "Not untill we are married."

I had a very similar reaction. I did not see the superhero until it was pointed out. The other image grabbed my attention right away.

I'd suggest we call it "That Flippin' Nebula".

"it could be perceived as a superhero flying through a cloud, arm up, with a saved person in tow below."

Try this. "The finger" as we see it is the arm of the superhero. The hump next to it is the head of the superhero, and the hump next to that is the other shoulder of the superhero.

I, too, am betting they did this as a subterfuse. Must have taken them a while to come up with an alternative image, though.
