I have not been a participant in the Galaxy Zoo
event but have been eager to see the outcome. And today there is news that a science paper is on the way with details of an anolmaly in the rotation of galaxies. But I learned that pictures were supplied to at least 20 signed up examiners. It may be they were told this was going to happen. So I wonder what criteria is used to accept a result, surely not a simple majority but unaminous or only one or two different. Of course the guys who set it up spent time sorting these questions but I hope we see the statistics of the experiment itself as well as the results. It is almost like having democracy in scientific discovery ![]() |
